Children’s Mental Health Support

Children in school are supported with their mental health in a number of ways. We offer drawing and talking therapy with a trained teaching assistant. Drawing and Talking allows individuals to discover and communicate emotions through a non-directed technique, setting it apart from existing solution-focused and cognitive-based therapies and interventions. As well as this support in school, we can also refer children to our designated health and wellbeing consultant for the Trust who will work with children 1:1. The appointments teach mindfulness strategies and positively challenge children’s thought processes, developing their confidence, self-esteem and positively affecting their mental health.

If we feel further support is required for a pupil we would refer to one of the following services with parental consent –

If you have any concerns about your child’s mental health and wellbeing please either contact Mrs Shale or Mrs Darbey who will be able to help you with next steps.
