Autumn

In English we will be exploring the text ‘The Queen’s Hat’. Children will be recapping their learning on simple sentences and how to construct them independently. Our new learning in English this term will be all about adjectives and proper nouns and how to use them effectively within our writing. Children will be adapting part of the text when it comes to their ‘Big Write’ where they will have ownership and opportunity to use their own ideas

In Geography, our topic is Bright Lights Big City. We will be recapping our learning on the capital cities of the UK before looking at a range of capital cities from around the world. We will be looking at aerial photos and making comparisons. Children will learn about human and physical features of the city. and

In History, we will be learning all about the history of London during the 17th century. We will be learning about Samuel Pepys and why he is a significant individual. We will be exploring the plague and where it came from. Finally, children will be learning about the Great Fire of London and what caused it.
