Link governor for Geography, Pupil Premium, Looked After Children and PE.

Jan is a retired teacher who worked in comprehensive schools, a college, a prison and with children in the care system during her 35 year career. She specialised in SEN and was a SENCo, a Head of Dept and Regional Team Leader.

She has lived in South Staffordshire  for more than 30 years and her children and grandchildren have been educated in local village schools. She is now retired keeping busy with occasional grandparenting duties, gym classes, and membership of an art group and pop choir.

Jan was a governor at a local first school for ten years resigning after a very successful OFSTED when she felt the school would benefit from a fresh pair of eyes. After taking a break she now looks forward to offering her skills, experience and support to another good local school.

Aimee Lavelle Aimee has worked in the Financial Sector for 10 years and has worked as a Project Manager for 18 months. Her main responsibilities include planning, delivering projects & realising benefits, managing & mitigating risks, and stakeholder management. She has had a variety of roles within the Financial Sector including Project Management Office, Telephony Banking and Customer Services.. Aimee has successfully obtained her Complaint Handling, CeMAP and APM Fundamental qualifications.

Marcus Francis Chair

Marcus has lived in Perton since 1977.  As one of the earliest residents, he grew up here, attending the local schools. He is the owner of a commercial insurance brokerage which is also Perton based and has served on Perton Parish Council for four years. Marcus is also actively involved in the local Round Table and 41 Club, bringing Father Christmas and his sleigh to Perton every year along with other charity work. Outside of this, he is married with two children, the eldest of which attends Perton Primary Academy, as will the youngest when she reaches school age.

Staff Lorraine Wallett Lorraine Wallet is an experienced Teaching Assistant, specialised in helping children with Special Educational Needs.  She knows Perton Primary Academy well having been involved with it as a parent of three pupils, volunteer and member of staff over 20 years.

Lorraine also supports the academy working as part of the Administrative and Finance Team.

Helen Ellerton Helen has worked at Perton Academy since 2018 having worked in the Dudley Borough. Helen is Subject leader for Maths and English. In the Academy, Helen has taught in both KS1 and KS2 and is currently in Year 2.
Amy Handley Before moving to Perton, Amy began her career in education, nine years ago, working in a primary school in Dudley. She is currently working in school as an Unqualified Teacher in Year One. She joined the school in 2016 where she was first appointed as a Personal Welfare Support Assistant.

 

Amy has worked across all key stages during her time at Perton Primary Academy. In the roles of PWSA, Breakfast and After School Club Supervisor, Cover Supervisor, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and Unqualified Teacher. In school, Amy is also the Mental Health and Workload lead, she is a qualified level 2 Mental Health First Aider.

 

Amy is currently attending Wolverhampton University where she is studying to gain a degree in BA (Hons) Special Educational Needs, Disability, Inclusion, Children and Family Studies. She is planning to further her CPD by enrolling onto the Assessment Only route into teaching, once she has completed her degree in May 2021.

 

Amy’s youngest child attended Perton Primary Academy, when the family first moved to Perton. She has two sons, which now attend Perton Middle School and Codsall High School. Amy, alongside her husband and sons all support the local community events and continue to be Perton residents.

 

Associate Katie Willis  

Katie has been deputy head teacher at Perton Primary Academy since 2015 when she joined the school and now works at Head of School. She has 12 years teaching experience based in Staffordshire and Wolverhampton schools.

Katie was previously subject leader for mathematics having qualified as a Maths Specialist Teacher (MaST) with Edge Hill University and is also an accredited Professional Development lead for the NCETM.

In the academy, Katie teaches in Y3 has responsibility as curriculum lead, key stage two,  educational visits and TA performance management.

In terms of educational support, SUAT is linked to the School of Education of Staffordshire University, which is an outstanding ITT provider.
