End of Term!

03rd April 2020

Dear Parents

I hope you and the children are all keeping safe and well. Children we are missing you!!

As we all know, we cannot put a time limit on how long this situation will continue but I would like to update you on matters as they stand at this moment in time.

We officially come to the end of term today. The school will then be closed for children for the two weeks. This will enable deep cleaning to take place and give everyone a 16 day clear break which we believe will be beneficial in reducing the risk of infection. We are providing alternative provision to children of key workers and vulnerable children at Codsall High. Those parents have been informed.

Daily home learning won’t be set during the break. I think both pupils, staff and parents need a well-earned rest. However,  there will be ideas on class pages for things to do over Easter alongside the website links that you already have access to. I can’t let this statement go without saying how very impressed we all are by the fantastic work that many of the children have been doing. Their contributions on their class work pages also are excellent! A big well done to parents, for supporting your children so fabulously with their learning.

For those parents who are eligible to bring their children to school, we are open again on Monday 20th April, please look out for email/survey to complete in due course.

As you will all be spending most of your time at home presently, it is likely that your children are spending more time on the internet. Please monitor the sites and any social media that your children are accessing to ensure they stay safe. (Please see our E-Safety Policy) https://www.pertonacademy.co.uk/images/image_gallery/large/1568805573.pdf

If you need to contact school over the holiday, I will be accessing emails sent to principal@pertonacademy.co.uk. Please all of you, enjoy your Easter break if you manage to get one!

We also say a sad good bye to Mrs Bate our Bursar, and Miss Evans in year 4, who have both aquired jobs at other schools within the Staffordshire University Academy Trust. May I take this opportunity to wish them well and thank them for all their hard work. They will be sorely missed!

May you all continue to remain safe and well,

Kind Regards

Naomi Ives
